Abstract
Umada Taman Pernantian. The research was carried out in Block 22 with an area of 12.17 ha using 30 plant samples representing 1,740 trees. The research method used is quantitative descriptive with a pre-experimental approach using a one group pretest–posttest design. Data collection was carried out through an initial census and weekly observations for three weeks after treatment. The research results showed that the initial population of bagworms was 269 individuals with an average of 8.96 individuals per tree, which was classified as a moderate to heavy attack. After treatment, the caterpillar population decreased gradually to 181 individuals in the first week, 105 individuals in the second week, and 42 individuals in the third week. The mortality rates obtained were 32.71%, 41.99% and 60% respectively, with total mortality reaching 84.39%. The results of the Paired Sample T-Test statistical test show a significance value of 0.000 which is smaller than α = 0.05 (two-sided), so it can be concluded that the stem injection method using 75% acephate is effective in suppressing bagworm pest populations on oil palm plants.
