Abstract
Degradasi lahan dan penurunan kesuburan tanah merupakan tantangan berkelanjutan dalam budidaya kelapa sawit monokultur intensif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh aplikasi Lubang Resapan Biopori (LRB) terhadap sifat kimia tanah pada perkebunan kelapa sawit. Penelitian dilaksanakan di areal demplot Balai Penyuluhan Pertanian (BPP) Rantau Selatan, Kabupaten Labuhanbatu, Provinsi Sumatera Utara, dari Agustus Sampai Desember 2025. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan dua perlakuan: (1) Tanpa LRB (Kontrol) dan (2) Dengan LRB (jarak antar lubang 1.5m, kedalaman 80 cm, diisi sampah organik daun sawit), masing-masing diulang lima kali. Parameter yang diukur meliputi pH tanah, C-organik, N-total, P-total, dan K-total. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan LRB secara signifikan (p<0.05) meningkatkan semua parameter kimia tanah yang diuji dibandingkan kontrol. Nilai pH tanah meningkat dari kategori masam (pH 4.8) menjadi agak masam (pH 5.5). Kandungan C-organik meningkat dari 1.85% (rendah) menjadi 2.92% (sedang). N-total meningkat dari 0.18% (rendah) menjadi 0.28% (sedang). P-total meningkat dari 18.5 mg/100g (rendah) menjadi 28.7 mg/100g (sedang), dan K-total dari 0.15 cmol(+)kg⁻¹ (rendah) menjadi 0.25 cmol(+)kg⁻¹ (sedang). Hasil ini mengindikasikan bahwa LRB efektif dalam memperbaiki kesuburan kimia tanah melalui proses dekomposisi bahan organik yang memperkaya unsur hara dan meningkatkan aktivitas biologis tanah. Kesimpulannya, penerapan teknologi sederhana LRB direkomendasikan sebagai upaya konservasi tanah dan suplai hara berkelanjutan dalam sistem budidaya kelapa sawit. This study aimed to analyze the effect of applying Biopore Infiltration Holes (BIH) on the chemical properties of soil in an oil palm plantation. The research was conducted in the demonstration plot of the Agricultural Extension Center (BPP) Rantau Selatan, Labuhanbatu Regency, North Sumatra Province, from August to Desember 2025. The experimental design used was a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with two treatments: (1) Without BIH (Control) and (2) With BIH (spacing 1.5m, depth 80 cm, filled with oil palm leaf litter), each replicated five times. The measured parameters included soil pH, organic-C, total-N, total-P, and total-K. The results showed that BIH treatment significantly (p<0.05) improved all tested soil chemical parameters compared to the control. Soil pH increased from the acidic category (pH 4.8) to slightly acidic (pH 5.5). Organic-C content increased from 1.85% (low) to 2.92% (medium). Total-N increased from 0.18% (low) to 0.28% (medium). Total-P increased from 18.5 mg/100g (low) to 28.7 mg/100g (medium), and total-K from 0.15 cmol(+)kg⁻¹ (low) to 0.25 cmol(+)kg⁻¹ (medium). These results indicate that BIH is effective in improving soil chemical fertility through the decomposition of organic matter which enriches nutrients and enhances soil biological activity. In conclusion, the application of simple BIH technology is recommended as a soil conservation and sustainable nutrient supply effort in oil palm cultivation systems.
