Abstract
Fase pembibitan awal (pre-nursery) merupakan tahap krusial yang menentukan kualitas bibit sebelum dipindahkan ke pembibitan utama (main nursery). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pengaruh mandiri maupun interaksi antara jarak tanam dan praktik pemangkasan daun terhadap parameter pertumbuhan vegetatif bibit kelapa sawit di lokasi spesifik PTPN IV Kebun Marbau Selatan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) Faktorial yang terdiri dari dua faktor. Faktor pertama adalah jarak tanam (J) dengan dua taraf: J1 (90 cm x 90 cm), dan J2 (100 cm x 100 cm). Penelitian dilaksanakan di kebun PTPN IV Regional I Marbau Selatan pada periode Januari hingga Maret 2026. Parameter yang diamati meliputi tinggi bibit (cm), jumlah daun (helai), dan diameter batang (mm). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan jarak tanam memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap seluruh parameter pertumbuhan yang diamati. Perlakuan J2 (jarak tanam renggang 100 x 100 cm) secara konsisten memberikan hasil terbaik dibandingkan perlakuan lainnya. Pada umur 12 MST, perlakuan J2 menghasilkan tinggi bibit rata-rata 12,55 cm, jumlah daun 10 helai pada 4 BST, dan diameter batang sebesar 3,42 mm. Hal ini dikarenakan jarak tanam yang lebih lebar mengurangi kompetisi antar bibit dalam memperebutkan cahaya, air, dan unsur hara, sehingga mendukung pertumbuhan vegetatif yang optimal. Sebaliknya, jarak tanam yang lebih rapat (J1) menunjukkan pertumbuhan yang lebih rendah akibat tingginya tingkat persaingan antar tanaman. Kata Kunci: Kelapa Sawit, Pre-Nursery, Jarak Tanam, Pemangkasan Daun, Pertumbuhan Vegetatif ================================================================================= The pre-nursery phase is a crucial stage that determines the quality of the seedlings before they are transferred to the main nursery (main-nursery). The purpose of this study is to analyze the independent influence and interaction between planting distance and leaf pruning practices on the vegetative growth parameters of oil palm seedlings in the specific location of PTPN IV South Marbau Plantation. The research method used is the Factorial Group Random Design (RAK) which consists of two factors. The first factor is the planting distance (J) with three levels: J1 (90 cm x 90 cm), and J2 (100 cm x 100 cm). The research was carried out in the PTPN IV Regional I South Marbau plantation in the period from January to March 2026. The observed parameters included seedling height (cm), number of leaves (strands), and stem diameter (mm). The results of the study showed that the treatment of planting spacing had a real influence on all observed growth parameters. The J2 treatment (planting distance of 100 x 100 cm) consistently gave the best results compared to other treatments. At the age of 12 MST, the J2 treatment yielded an average seedling height of 12.55 cm, a leaf count of 10 strands at 4 BST, and a stem diameter of 3.42 mm. This is because the wider planting distance reduces competition between seedlings in the fight for light, water, and nutrients, thus supporting optimal vegetative growth. On the other hand, the tighter planting distance (J1) showed lower growth due to the high level of competition between plants.
