Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi Internet of Things (IoT) telah memberikan banyak kemudahan dalam berbagai bidang, termasuk pada sektor pertanian. Salah satu penerapan teknologi tersebut adalah sistem penyiraman tanaman otomatis yang mampu membantu petani dalam melakukan proses penyiraman secara lebih efektif dan efisien. Di Desa Lingkungan Perlayuan 2, penyiraman bibit kelapa sawit masih dilakukan secara manual sehingga sering mengalami kendala, seperti keterbatasan waktu, tenaga kerja, serta ketidakpastian dalam menentukan kebutuhan air tanaman. Kondisi tersebut dapat menyebabkan tanaman mengalami kekurangan maupun kelebihan air yang berdampak pada pertumbuhan bibit kelapa sawit. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan sebuah sistem yang mampu melakukan penyiraman secara otomatis berdasarkan kondisi kelembaban tanah dan dapat dipantau dari jarak jauh melalui jaringan internet. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan membangun alat penyiram otomatis berbasis Internet of Things (IoT) menggunakan mikrokontroler ESP8266 dan sensor kelembaban tanah sebagai pendeteksi kondisi media tanam. Sistem yang dikembangkan memanfaatkan sensor kelembaban tanah untuk membaca tingkat kelembaban secara real-time, kemudian data tersebut diproses oleh ESP8266 sebagai pusat pengendali sistem. Hasil pembacaan sensor digunakan sebagai dasar untuk mengaktifkan atau menonaktifkan pompa air melalui modul relay sesuai dengan nilai ambang batas kelembaban yang telah ditentukan. Selain menjalankan proses penyiraman secara otomatis, sistem juga mengirimkan data kelembaban tanah dan status pompa ke aplikasi Blynk sehingga pengguna dapat memantau kondisi penyiraman melalui smartphone selama perangkat terhubung ke jaringan internet. One application of this technology is an automatic plant watering system that can help farmers in the watering process more effectively and efficiently. In the Perlayuan 2 Environment Village, watering oil palm seedlings is still done manually, which often encounters obstacles, such as limited time, labor, and uncertainty in determining the plant's water needs. These conditions can cause plants to experience a lack or excess of water, which impacts the growth of oil palm seedlings. Therefore, a system is needed that can carry out automatic watering based on soil moisture conditions and can be monitored remotely via an internet network. This study aims to design and build an Internet of Things (IoT)-based automatic watering device using an ESP8266 microcontroller and a soil moisture sensor to detect the condition of the planting medium. The developed system utilizes a soil moisture sensor to read the humidity level in real time, then the data is processed by the ESP8266 as the system control center. The sensor readings are used as a basis for activating or deactivating the water pump through a relay module according to a predetermined humidity threshold value. In addition to running the watering process automatically, the system also sends soil moisture data and pump status to the Blynk application so that users can monitor watering conditions via smartphone as long as the device is connected to the internet network.
