Abstract

Hewan pengganggu seperti tikus, kucing liar, ayam, dan burung sering menimbulkan kerugian pada area pertanian maupun permukiman. Pengendalian secara manual dinilai kurang efektif karena memerlukan pengawasan secara terus menerus. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan membangun prototype perangkap hewan otomatis berbasis Internet of Things (IoT) menggunakan mikrokontroler ESP32 dan sensor ultrasonik HC-SR04. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan model ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Sistem yang dikembangkan terdiri dari sensor ultrasonik HC-SR04 sebagai pendeteksi objek, ESP32 sebagai pengendali utama, relay dan solenoid door lock sebagai mekanisme penutup perangkap, LED dan buzzer sebagai indikator, serta komunikasi berbasis WiFi menggunakan protokol MQTT untuk mengirimkan notifikasi melalui aplikasi WhatsApp. Pengujian dilakukan secara fungsional terhadap setiap komponen sistem, meliputi sensor ultrasonik, relay, solenoid door lock, LED, buzzer, notifikasi WhatsApp, dan pengujian sistem secara keseluruhan. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa seluruh komponen dapat bekerja sesuai dengan fungsi yang telah dirancang. Sensor berhasil mendeteksi objek, relay dan solenoid door lock mampu mengaktifkan mekanisme penutupan perangkap secara otomatis, LED dan buzzer berfungsi sebagai indikator, serta notifikasi WhatsApp berhasil diterima oleh pengguna. Dengan demikian, prototype yang dikembangkan mampu bekerja sesuai tujuan penelitian dan dapat membantu pengguna dalam memantau kondisi perangkap secara otomatis melalui teknologi IoT. Kata Kunci: ESP32, Internet of Things, Sensor Ultrasonik HC-SR04, Perangkap Hewan Otomatis, MQTT, WhatsApp ================================================================================================= Pet animals such as rats, stray cats, chickens, and birds often cause losses in agricultural and residential areas. Conventional control methods are considered less effective because they require continuous human supervision. This study aims to design and develop an Internet of Things (IoT)-based automatic animal trap prototype using an ESP32 microcontroller and an HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor. The research employed the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) model. The developed system consists of an HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor for object detection, an ESP32 microcontroller as the main controller, a relay and solenoid door lock as the trap-closing mechanism, an LED and buzzer as indicators, and Wi-Fi communication using the MQTT protocol to send notifications through the WhatsApp application. Functional testing was conducted on each system component, including the ultrasonic sensor, relay, solenoid door lock, LED, buzzer, WhatsApp notification, and the overall system. The test results showed that all components operated according to their intended functions. The ultrasonic sensor successfully detected objects, the relay and solenoid door lock automatically activated the trap-closing mechanism, the LED and buzzer functioned as indicators, and WhatsApp notifications were successfully delivered to the user. Therefore, the developed prototype successfully achieved the research objectives and can assist users in monitoring the animal trap automatically through IoT technology.
