Abstract
Sistem absensi karyawan merupakan salah satu komponen penting dalam pengelolaan sumber daya manusia karena berperan dalam pencatatan kehadiran, kedisiplinan, dan penyusunan laporan kehadiran. Proses absensi yang masih dilakukan secara konvensional maupun menggunakan sistem yang menghasilkan data secara offline memiliki beberapa kelemahan, seperti keterlambatan penyampaian informasi, risiko kehilangan data, serta kurang optimal dalam proses pemantauan kehadiran karyawan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan membangun aplikasi absensi karyawan berbasis Android menggunakan Global Positioning System (GPS) yang mampu melakukan validasi lokasi, pencatatan kehadiran, serta penyajian laporan absensi secara real-time. Metode pengembangan sistem yang digunakan adalah Waterfall yang terdiri atas tahapan analisis kebutuhan, perancangan sistem, implementasi, pengujian, dan pemeliharaan. Aplikasi dikembangkan menggunakan bahasa pemrograman Kotlin dengan Jetpack Compose, memanfaatkan CameraX untuk pengambilan foto, REST API berbasis PHP sebagai media komunikasi data, serta basis data MySQL yang berjalan pada Virtual Private Server (VPS). Pengujian sistem dilakukan menggunakan metode Black Box Testing terhadap seluruh fitur utama aplikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aplikasi berhasil menjalankan proses autentikasi pengguna, validasi lokasi menggunakan GPS, pengambilan foto dengan overlay, pencatatan absensi masuk dan pulang, pengelolaan data karyawan, penyusunan laporan harian, rekapitulasi bulanan, serta ekspor laporan dalam format Comma Separated Values (CSV). Berdasarkan hasil pengujian, seluruh fungsi utama berjalan sesuai dengan kebutuhan fungsional sehingga aplikasi mampu meningkatkan efisiensi proses absensi serta menghasilkan data kehadiran yang tersimpan secara digital dan dapat diakses secara real-time. Kata Kunci : Absensi Karyawan, Android, Global Positioning System (GPS), Kotlin, Black Box Testing. =========================================================================== An employee attendance system is an essential component of human resource management as it supports attendance recording, employee discipline, and attendance reporting. Conventional attendance methods and systems that generate offline data have several limitations, including delayed information delivery, the risk of data loss, and inefficient attendance monitoring. This study aims to design and develop an Android-based employee attendance application using the Global Positioning System (GPS) to validate employee locations, record attendance, and provide real-time attendance reports. The system was developed using the Waterfall software development method, which consists of requirement analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. The application was developed using the Kotlin programming language with Jetpack Compose, CameraX for image capture, a PHP-based REST API for data communication, and a MySQL Database hosted on a Virtual Private Server (VPS). System testing was conducted using the Black Box Testing method to evaluate all major application functionalities. The results indicate that the application successfully performs user authentication, GPS-based location validation, attendance photo capture with an overlay, check-in and check-out attendance recording, employee data management, daily attendance reporting, monthly attendance recapitulation, and report export in Comma Separated Values (CSV) format. Based on the testing results, all core functionalities operated according to the specified functional requirements. Therefore, the developed application improves the efficiency of the attendance process while providing digitally stored attendance records that can be accessed in real-time.
