Abstract

Pembibitan kelapa sawit (nursery) merupakan fase krusial yang memerlukan ketepatan tinggi dalam pemberian nutrisi dan air agar pertumbuhan bibit optimal. Namun, metode pemeliharaan konvensional yang masih bersifat manual sering kali menyebabkan ketidaktepatan dosis pupuk dan keterlambatan penanganan saat media tanam kekurangan unsur hara. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang, membangun, dan menguji sistem pemupukan cair otomatis berbasis Internet of Things (IoT) yang terintegrasi dengan aplikasi pengirim pesan instan WhatsApp. Metode penelitian meliputi perancangan perangkat keras (hardware), pengembangan perangkat lunak pada mikrokontroler, serta pengujian fungsionalitas sistem secara menyeluruh. Sistem ini menggunakan mikrokontroler ESP32 sebagai pusat pemrosesan data, serta didukung oleh sensor kelembaban tanah untuk memantau kadar air, sensor pH cair untuk mengukur tingkat keasaman nutrisi, dan float switch sebagai pengaman cadangan cairan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sistem mampu membaca kondisi lingkungan secara akurat, mengaktifkan aktuator berupa pompa peristaltik melalui modul relay secara otomatis berdasarkan ambang batas (threshold) yang ditentukan, serta mengirimkan notifikasi status operasional dan peringatan dini (early warning system) terkait ketersediaan stok pupuk secara real-time ke smartphone pengguna melalui HTTP API WhatsApp Gateway. Dengan demikian, sistem ini terbukti efektif dan layak diimplementasikan sebagai solusi pertanian presisi guna meningkatkan efisiensi operasional di perkebunan kelapa sawit. Kata Kunci : Internet of Things, ESP32, Pemupukan Otomatis, Sensor Kelembaban Tanah, WhatsApp Gateway, Pembibitan Kelapa Sawit. ================================================================================================== Oil palm nursery is a crucial phase that requires high precision in nutrient and water management to ensure optimal seedling growth. However, conventional manual maintenance methods often lead to inaccurate fertilizer doses and delayed responses when the growing media lacks essential nutrients. This study aims to design, develop, and test an Internet of Things (IoT)-based automated liquid fertilization system integrated with the WhatsApp instant messaging application. The research methodology encompasses hardware design, microcontroller software development, and comprehensive system functionality testing. The system utilizes an ESP32 microcontroller as the central data processing unit, supported by a soil moisture sensor to monitor water content, a liquid pH sensor to measure nutrient acidity levels, and a float switch as a safety mechanism for liquid levels. The test results demonstrate that the system can accurately read environmental conditions, automatically activate an actuator in the form of a peristaltic pump via a relay module based on predefined thresholds, and transmit operational status notifications and early warnings regarding fertilizer stock availability in real-time to the user's smartphone via the HTTP API WhatsApp Gateway. Consequently, this system proves to be effective and feasible for implementation as a precision agriculture solution to enhance operational efficiency in oil palm nurseries.
