Abstract
Media tanam merupakan faktor krusial dalam keberhasilan pembibitan kelapa sawit (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) pada fase pre-nursery. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian cocopeat yang didekomposisi terhadap pertumbuhan bibit kelapa sawit serta menentukan dosis terbaik dalam meningkatkan pertumbuhan bibit pada fase pre-nursery. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Lingkungan Perdamean, Sigambal, Kecamatan Rantau Selatan, Kabupaten Labuhanbatu dari November 2025 hingga Februari 2026. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) non-faktorial satu faktor yaitu dosis cocopeat terdekomposisi 14 hari dengan 5 taraf perlakuan: P0 (0% cocopeat + 100% topsoil), P1 (25% cocopeat + 75% topsoil), P2 (50% cocopeat + 50% topsoil), P3 (75% cocopeat + 25% topsoil), dan P4 (100% cocopeat) dengan 5 ulangan (total 25 unit percobaan). Parameter yang diamati meliputi tinggi tanaman (cm), diameter batang (mm), dan jumlah daun (helai) yang diukur setiap minggu selama 12 minggu. Data dianalisis menggunakan Analisis Sidik Ragam (ANOVA) dan dilanjutkan dengan uji Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT) pada taraf 5%. Hasil analisis ragam pada minggu ke-12 menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan dosis cocopeat terdekomposisi berpengaruh sangat nyata ($P < 0,01$) terhadap seluruh parameter pertumbuhan. Perlakuan P2 (50% cocopeat + 50% topsoil) memberikan hasil terbaik terhadap pertumbuhan bibit kelapa sawit dengan rerata tinggi tanaman sebesar 20,70 cm (meningkat 14,36% dibanding kontrol P0), diameter batang 36,00 mm (meningkat 20,00% dibanding kontrol P0), dan jumlah daun 4,00 helai. Penggunaan cocopeat murni 100% (P4) menghasilkan pertumbuhan terendah. Kesimpulannya, cocopeat terdekomposisi 14 hari lebih efektif digunakan sebagai bahan campuran media tanam (topsoil) daripada digunakan sebagai media tunggal, dengan dosis optimum sebesar 50%. This study aimed to determine the effect of decomposed cocopeat on the growth of oil palm seedlings and to identify the optimal dosage for enhancing seedling growth in the pre nursery phase. The research was conducted in Perdamean, Sigambal, South Rantau District, Labuhanbatu Regency, from November 2025 to February 2026. A Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with a single factor was utilized, consisting of 5 treatment levels of 14-day decomposed cocopeat dosage: P0 (0% cocopeat + 100% topsoil), P1 (25% cocopeat + 75% topsoil), P2 (50% cocopeat + 50% topsoil), P3 (75% cocopeat + 25% topsoil), and P4 (100% cocopeat), replicated 5 times (total of 25 experimental units). Observed parameters included plant height (cm), stem diameter (mm), and leaf count (leaves), recorded weekly over a 12-week period. Data were subjected to Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) followed by Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at a 5% significance level. The ANOVA results at 12 weeks after planting indicated that the decomposed cocopeat dosage had a highly significant effect ($P < 0.01$) on all growth parameters. Treatment P2 (50% cocopeat + 50% topsoil) achieved the best growth performance, recording an average plant height of 20.70 cm (a 14.36% increase over control P0), stem diameter of 36.00 mm (a 20.00% increase over control P0), and 4.00 leaves. Conversely, 100% pure cocopeat (P4) resulted in the lowest growth performance. In conclusion, 14-day decomposed cocopeat is more effective when utilized as a mixture component with topsoil rather than as a sole planting medium, with an optimal proportion of 50%.
