Abstract

Cow manure is a waste product from cattle breeding that is not utilized, manure is the of waste could be utilized become to organic matter to celery plants. The aimed of this experiment was to observe the utilization of compost from manure to improving vegetative growth of celery plants. In this study the authors used polybags in yards in Kampung Yaman village, Aek Natas sub-district, North Labuhanbatu district, this city is located 99.25.00° – 100.05.00° East Longitude and 01°58'00'' – 02°50'00'' North Latitude. This experiment used complelety randomized design with 3 combination compost those are A=1:1, B=1:3 and C=1:2, each treatment contain 3 repetition and have 9 units polybag. Based on data from this research, the best combination from 1:2 given the best value to improving the vegetative growth of celery compared to others. Keywords: compost, fertilizer, growth, soil
