Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran outdoor berbasis PAIKEM terhadap pemahaman konsep ekosistem siswa kelas VII di SMP Swasta Muhammadiyah 35 Sigambal. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen semu (quasi-experimental) dengan desain pretest-posttest control group design. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII sebanyak 122 siswa, dengan sampel 60 siswa yang terbagi menjadi kelas eksperimen (30 siswa) dan kelas kontrol (30 siswa). Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes pilihan ganda dan angket. Analisis data dilakukan dengan uji normalitas Shapiro Wilk, uji homogenitas Levene's Test, dan uji t independen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Terdapat peningkatan pemahaman konsep ekosistem yang signifikan pada kelas eksperimen dengan rata-rata nilai post-test 79,67 (meningkat 33,34 poin dari pre-test 46,33), sedangkan kelas kontrol hanya meningkat 19,66 poin; (2) Uji t menunjukkan perbedaan signifikan antara kedua kelompok (t = 11,283; p < 0,05); (3) Respon siswa terhadap pembelajaran outdoor berbasis PAIKEM sangat positif dengan 85% siswa menyatakan lebih termotivasi.Temuan ini mendukung teori konstruktivisme dan penelitian sebelumnya yang menyatakan bahwa pembelajaran berbasis pengalaman langsung efektif meningkatkan pemahaman konsep. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan penggunaan pembelajaran outdoor berbasis PAIKEM untuk pengajaran konsep ekosistem di sekolah. Kata Kunci : Pembelajaran Outdoor, PAIKEM, Pemahaman Konsep Ekosistem, Quasi-Experimental, Pendidikan Biologi ==================================================================================================== This study aims to determine the effect of PAIKEM-based outdoor learning on the understanding of ecosystem concepts of grade VII students at SMP Swasta Muhammadiyah 35 Sigambal. The research method used was a quasi experimental with a pretest-posttest control group design. The population of the study was all grade VII students totaling 122 students, with a sample of 60 students divided into an experimental class (30 students) and a control class (30 students). Data collection techniques used multiple-choice tests and questionnaires. Data analysis was carried out using the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, Levene's Test homogeneity test, and independent t-test. The results of the study showed that: (1) There was a significant increase in understanding of the ecosystem concept in the experimental class with an average post-test score of 79.67 (an increase of 33.34 points from the pre-test of 46.33), while the control class only increased by 19.66 points; (2) The t-test showed a significant difference between the two groups (t = 11.283; p < 0.05); (3) Students' responses to PAIKEM-based outdoor learning were very positive with 85% of students stating that they were more motivated. These findings support the theory of constructivism and previous research stating that direct experience-based learning is effective in improving conceptual understanding. This study recommends the use of PAIKEM-based outdoor learning for teaching ecosystem concepts in schools.
