Abstract

This study aims to explain the effect of students' interest and motivation on learning achievement in mathematics. This type of research is to use quantitative research with survey methods. The data analysis test is using a non parametric statistical test, namely Wilcoxon. The population in this study were all students of class VIII at SMP Muhammadiyah 25 Rantau Prapat. The sample in this study were 25 students selected by random sampling technique. The data collection technique in this study is the distribution of questionnaires. From the results of the Wilcoxon test, the probability value or Asymp is obtained. Sig (2-tailed) = 0.000 < 0.05. Thus can be said that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, meaning that interest in learning and learning motivation affect the mathematics learning achievement of class VIII students of SMP Muhammadiyah 25 Rantau Prapat. Keywords : Learning Interest, Learning Motivation, Mathematics Learning Achievement ===================================================================================================== Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan pengaruh minat dan motivasi belajar siswa terhadap prestasi belajar matematika. Jenis penelitian ini yaitu dengan menggunakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode survei. Uji analisis data yaitu menggunakan uji statistika non parametrik yaitu wilcoxon. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII di SMP Muhammadiyah 25 Rantau Prapat. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 25 siswa yang dipilih dengan teknik random sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah penyebaran angket. Dari hasil uji wilcoxon didapatkan nilai probabiltas atau Asymp. Sig (2-tailed) = 0,000 < 0,05. Dengan demikian dapat dikatakan bahwa Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima artinya minat belajar dan motivasi belajar berpengaruh terhadap prestasi belajar matematika siswa kelas VIII SMP Muhammadiyah 25 Rantau Prapat.
