Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana pemahaman norma-norma dalam pembentukan karakter mahasiswa (studi kasus mahasiswa prodi ppkn fakultas keguruan dan ilmu pendidikan universitas labuhanbatu). Metode penelitian tempat penelitian prodi ppkn, fakultas keguruan dan ilmu pendidikan, universitas labuhanbatu waktu penelitian 11 maret 2026 sampai dengan 16 april 2026. Pendekatan penelitian kualitatif penelitian kualitatif jenis penelitian penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Sumber data yaitu sumber data primer berupa hasil observasi dan hasil wawancara informan kunci, informan serta responden, sumber data sekunder dokumen, buku, jurnal penelitian terdahulu.teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data reduksi data, penyajian data menarik kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian: pemahaman terhadap norma tidak hanya sebatas pengetahuan, tetapi telah berkembang menjadi kesadaran yang diwujudkan dalam perilaku nyata, seperti kejujuran akademik, kepatuhan terhadap aturan, kemampuan mengelola waktu, serta tanggung jawab dalam menyelesaikan tugas dan kewajiban administrasi. Proses pembentukan karakter mahasiswa juga didukung oleh peran aktif dosen melalui integrasi pendidikan karakter dalam pembelajaran serta penegakan aturan yang konsisten dan edukatif. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa lingkungan akademik yang kondusif dan terarah mampu membentuk kebiasaan positif yang berkelanjutan. Dengan demikian, pemahaman norma-norma yang baik akan mendorong terbentuknya karakter mahasiswa yang tidak hanya unggul secara akademik, tetapi juga memiliki integritas, kedisiplinan, dan tanggung jawab sebagai bekal dalam kehidupan bermasyarakat. Kata kunci : Pemahaman, Norma, Karakter Mahasiswa, Mahasiswa FKIP. =================================================================================================== This study aims to examine how the understanding of norms contributes to the formation of student character, focusing on students of the PPKn Study Program at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Labuhanbatu University. The research was conducted in the PPKn Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Labuhanbatu University, from March 11, 2026, to April 16, 2026. This study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive qualitative research design. The data sources consisted of primary data, including observations and interviews with key informants, informants, and respondents, as well as secondary data from documents, books, and previous research journals. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis techniques included data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results show that the understanding of norms is not limited to knowledge but has developed into awareness manifested in real behavior, such as academic honesty, compliance with rules, time management skills, and responsibility in completing tasks and administrative obligations. The process of student character formation is also supported by the active role of lecturers through the integration of character education in learning and consistent and educative enforcement of rules. This indicates that a conducive and well structured academic environment can foster sustainable positive habits. Therefore, a strong understanding of norms encourages the development of student character that is not only academically competent but also demonstrates integrity, discipline, and responsibility as essential provisions for social life.
