Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan membangun sistem pengingat obat otomatis berbasis Internet of Things (IoT) menggunakan mikrokontroler ESP32 dengan notifikasi WhatsApp pada panti jompo. Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah masih sering terjadinya keterlambatan atau kelalaian dalam pemberian obat kepada lansia akibat keterbatasan pengawasan oleh petugas serta menurunnya daya ingat pada pasien lanjut usia. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan sebuah sistem yang mampu memberikan pengingat secara otomatis dan real-time. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan model pengembangan ADDIE yang meliputi tahap Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, dan Evaluation. Sistem yang dirancang terdiri dari beberapa komponen utama, yaitu ESP32 sebagai pusat kendali, motor servo sebagai mekanisme pembuka wadah obat, buzzer sebagai alarm, serta integrasi dengan WhatsApp API untuk pengiriman notifikasi kepada petugas. Pengaturan waktu pada sistem memanfaatkan sinkronisasi waktu berbasis jaringan (internet) yang terhubung melalui ESP32. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa sistem pengingat obat otomatis mampu bekerja sesuai dengan jadwal yang telah ditentukan, memberikan notifikasi secara real-time melalui WhatsApp, serta membantu meningkatkan ketepatan waktu pemberian obat kepada lansia. Sistem ini juga dinilai efektif dalam mengurangi risiko kelalaian petugas dan meningkatkan efisiensi dalam pengawasan konsumsi obat di panti jompo. Dengan demikian, sistem yang dikembangkan dapat menjadi solusi inovatif dalam mendukung pelayanan kesehatan berbasis teknologi, khususnya dalam meningkatkan kepatuhan konsumsi obat pada lansia. Kata kunci: ESP32, Internet of Things, Pengingat Obat, WhatsApp, Panti Jompo ================================================================================================= This study aims to design and develop an automatic medicine reminder system based on the Internet of Things (IoT) using an ESP32 microcontroller with WhatsApp notifications in a nursing home environment. The background of this study is the frequent occurrence of delays or negligence in administering medication to elderly patients due to limited supervision by caregivers and declining memory in elderly individuals. Therefore, a system that can provide automatic and real-time reminders is needed. The method used in this study is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE development model, which consists of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation stages. The system is designed using several main components, including ESP32 as the main controller, a servo motor as a mechanism to open the medicine container, a buzzer as an alarm, and integration with the WhatsApp API to send notifications to caregivers. Time scheduling in this system utilizes network-based time synchronization through the ESP32. The results of this study indicate that the automatic medicine reminder system is able to operate according to the predetermined schedule, provide real-time notifications via WhatsApp, and assist in improving the accuracy of medication administration for elderly patients. This system is also considered effective in reducing caregiver negligence and increasing efficiency in monitoring medication consumption in nursing homes. Thus, the developed system can serve as an innovative solution in supporting technology based healthcare services, especially in improving medication adherence among the elderly.
