Abstract
The existing traditional market in Bagan Sinembahfaces critical issues of severe traffic congestion and overcrowding, necessitating an objective relocation strategy. This research aims to develop a Decision Support System (DSS) to identify the optimal location for a new traditional market using the Complex Proportional Assessment (COPRAS) method. Ten alternative locations (ALI -ALIO) were evaluated against five weighted criteria: Strategic Location (37%), Land Area (23%), Accessibility (16%), Price (13%), and Population Density (11%). The results show that ALI achieved the highest utility score of 100.00%, followed by AL6 (89.79%) and AL4 (77.93%), identifying them as the most suitable candidates for relocation. The study concludes that the COPRAS method provides a transparent and quantifiable tool for local government stakeholders to simplify complex regional planning decisions and optimize publicfacility placement.
