Abstract

This study aims to determine the chemical characteristics of ultisol soil planted with watermelon (Citrullus Lanatus) in Gnung Selamat Village, Bilah Hulu District, Labuhanbatu Regency. This study used a descriptive exploratory method in which the variable approach was carried out through land surveys in the field and supported by the results of soil analysis in the laboratory. The results of this study stated that in Ultisol control land soil texture was obtained, namely sandy clay, soil pH with acid criteria, C-organic and K-dd with very low criteria, N-total, P-total, P-available, CEC, with criteria low. In the watermelon planting area, soil texture was obtained, namely clay, soil pH with very acid criteria, C-organic, N-total, P-total, P available, CEC with low criteria, K-dd with very low criteria and Al saturation with medium criteria.
