Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) terhadap hasil belajar Pendidikan Pancasila dan Kewarganegaraan (PPKn) siswa kelas X SMA Swasta HAS Sepakat. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen semu dengan desain Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. Sampel penelitian terdiri atas dua kelompok, yaitu 36 siswa sebagai kelompok eksperimen yang menerima pembelajaran berbasis PBL dan 35 siswa sebagai kelompok kontrol yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes hasil belajar yang telah melalui proses validasi ahli, uji validitas empiris, serta uji reliabilitas. Data dikumpulkan melalui pretest, posttest, observasi, dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis dengan uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, uji t, uji ANCOVA, dan perhitungan effect size. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan PBL memberikan pengaruh signifikan terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar PPKn. Nilai rata-rata posttest kelompok eksperimen sebesar 83,75 lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelompok kontrol sebesar 75,10. Uji t dan ANCOVA menghasilkan nilai signifikansi 0.000, yang mengindikasikan adanya perbedaan hasil belajar yang sangat signifikan antara kedua kelompok setelah diberi perlakuan. Nilai effect size sebesar 1.11 yang termasuk kategori very large effect membuktikan bahwa PBL memiliki kekuatan pengaruh yang besar dan substantif terhadap capaian akademik siswa. Kata Kunci: Model Pembelajaran, Problem Based Learning, Hasil Belajar =========================================================================== This study investigates the effect of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model on improving students’ learning outcomes in Civic Education (PPKn). The research was motivated by the tendency of PPKn learning in schools to remain dominated by teacher-centered and rote-based approaches, which limit students’ critical thinking and problem-solving skills. PBL is considered a relevant alternative because it emphasizes real-life problems, collaborative learning, and active student engagement. This experimental study employed a one-group pretest–posttest design involving 32 eighth-grade students. Data were collected using learning outcome tests and analyzed through paired sample t-tests to determine the significance of the improvement, followed by Cohen’s d to measure the effect size. The results indicate a significant increase in students’ learning outcomes after the implementation of PBL. The paired t-test shows t = 4.88 with p = 0.000, indicating statistical significance at the 0.05 level. The increase in the mean score was 8.65 points. The effect size calculation reveals a Cohen’s d value of 1.11, categorized as a very large effect, demonstrating that PBL strongly influences improvements in students’ PPKn learning outcomes.
