Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji topik dampak bullying terhadap kompetensi sosial emosional mahasiswa Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan (FKIP) Universitas Labuhanbatu. Fenomena bullying di lingkungan perguruan tinggi menjadi perhatian penting karena dapat memengaruhi perkembangan psikologis, sosial, dan akademik mahasiswa, khususnya sebagai calon pendidik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bentuk-bentuk bullying serta dampaknya terhadap kemampuan mahasiswa dalam mengelola emosi, membangun hubungan sosial, dan mengambil keputusan secara bertanggung jawab. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi dengan teknik purposive sampling. Analisis data dilakukan melalui tahap reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan secara sistematis untuk memperoleh gambaran yang mendalam mengenai fenomena yang diteliti. Hasil penelitian pada Bab IV menunjukkan bahwa praktik bullying masih terjadi di lingkungan kampus, terutama dalam bentuk verbal dan sosial yang bersifat terselubung. Dampak yang ditimbulkan meliputi menurunnya rasa percaya diri, munculnya kecemasan, terganggunya konsentrasi belajar, serta kesulitan dalam menjalin hubungan sosial. Selain itu, kemampuan mahasiswa dalam mengelola emosi juga mengalami gangguan akibat pengalaman bullying yang dialami. Kesimpulan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa bullying memiliki dampak signifikan terhadap penurunan kompetensi sosial emosional mahasiswa FKIP. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan upaya pencegahan dan penanganan yang serius dari pihak kampus untuk menciptakan lingkungan pendidikan yang aman, nyaman, dan kondusif bagi perkembangan mahasiswa. Kata kunci: Bullying, Kompetensi Sosial Emosional, Mahasiswa FKIP ================================================================================================= This study examines the impact of bullying on the social-emotional competence of students at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) at Labuhanbatu University. The phenomenon of bullying in the university environment is a significant concern because it can impact the psychological, social, and academic development of students, particularly as future educators. This study aims to analyze the forms of bullying and their impact on students' ability to manage emotions, build social relationships, and make responsible decisions. The method used in this study was qualitative with a descriptive approach. Data were obtained through interviews, observation, and documentation using a purposive sampling technique. Data analysis was carried out through data reduction, data presentation, and systematic conclusion drawing to obtain an in-depth understanding of the phenomenon under study. The results in Chapter IV indicate that bullying practices still occur on campus, particularly in verbal and social forms that are covert. The resulting impacts include decreased self-confidence, anxiety, impaired concentration, and difficulty in establishing social relationships. Furthermore, students' ability to manage their emotions is also impaired due to bullying experiences. The conclusion of this study indicates that bullying has a significant impact on the decline in the social-emotional competence of FKIP students. Therefore, serious prevention and handling efforts are needed from the campus to create a safe, comfortable, and conducive educational environment for student development.
