Abstract

Kata kunci: GPS Neo-6M, SIM800L V2, Arduino, GPS Tracker, SMS, Keamanan Kendaraan ================================================================================================ Vehicle security is a growing concern amid rising vehicle theft incidents. This study designs and implements an IoT-based GPS tracker to enhance the security of private vehicles, particularly motorcycles. The device uses a u-blox Neo-6M GPS module to obtain position coordinates, a SIM800L V2 GSM module for SMS communication, and an Arduino microcontroller (Uno/Nano) as the control unit. The system accepts SMS commands from the owner (e.g., CEK to request location or MATIKAN/HIDUPKAN to control the relay) and replies with coordinates formatted as a Google Maps link. The design includes a Li-Ion battery power supply with TP4056 charging module, software flowcharting, and functional testing. Tests were conducted across different environments (open area, partially obstructed, and low-signal zones) to evaluate GPS accuracy, SMS reliability, and battery endurance. Results indicate the system reliably sends location via SMS under adequate signal conditions and correctly responds to user commands; primary limitations arise from GPS/GSM signal quality and lack of water protection. This solution is practical and cost-effective for vehicle tracking, with suggested improvements including vibration sensors, geofencing, and waterproof casing.
