Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas X pada materi ekosistem di SMA Negeri 1 Panai Hilir. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif dengan sampel sebanyak 71 siswa melalui teknik total sampling. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes pilihan ganda sebanyak 30 soal yang disusun berdasarkan indikator berpikir kritis menurut Ennis. Data dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan dikonversi ke dalam bentuk persentase. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa sebesar 67,35 dengan kategori sedang. Kemampuan tertinggi terdapat pada indikator memberikan penjelasan sederhana, sedangkan terendah pada indikator mengatur strategi dan taktik. Secara umum, kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa belum optimal dan cenderung menurun pada indikator berpikir tingkat tinggi. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan pembelajaran yang berorientasi pada Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS). Kata kunci : Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis, Ekosistem, Pembelajaran Biologi ================================================================================================= This study aims to analyze the critical thinking skills of tenth-grade students on ecosystem material at SMA Negeri 1 Panai Hilir. The study employed a quantitative descriptive approach with 71 students selected through total sampling. The research instrument consisted of 30 multiple-choice questions based on Ennis’s critical thinking indicators. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and converted into percentages. The results showed that the average critical thinking score was 67.35, categorized as moderate. The highest score was found in providing simple explanations, while the lowest was in managing strategies and tactics. Overall, students’ critical thinking skills are not yet optimal and tend to decline at higher-order thinking indicators. Therefore, learning strategies oriented toward Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) are needed. Keywords : Critical Thinking Skills, Ecosystem, Biology Learning
