Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya sikap kesopanan siswa dalam kegiatan belajar, seperti meninggalkan kelas tanpa izin, menggunakan telepon genggam saat pelajaran, ribut di kelas, serta kurang menghargai guru dan teman sebaya. Kondisi tersebut menuntut adanya model pembelajaran inovatif yang berpusat pada siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan model Problem Based Learning (PBL) serta menganalisis pengaruhnya terhadap penguatan norma kesopanan siswa kelas X SMA Kemala Bhayangkari 2 Rantauprapat. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengambilan sampel purposive sampling. Sampel penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas X IPS 2 yang berjumlah 36 orang. Instrumen penelitian berupa angket norma kesopanan yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Hasil uji validitas menunjukkan seluruh item angket memiliki nilai r-hitung lebih besar daripada r tabel (0,329), dengan rentang nilai antara 0,751–0,910 dan 0,863–0,909. Hasil uji reliabilitas menunjukkan nilai Cronbach’s Alpha sebesar 0,952 dan 0,968 (>0,60), sehingga instrumen dinyatakan valid dan reliabel. Analisis data dilakukan dengan uji t menggunakan SPSS Statistics versi 26. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai t hitung sebesar 4,696 lebih besar daripada t tabel sebesar 2,032 dengan signifikansi <0,001. Dengan demikian H₀ ditolak dan H₁ diterima, artinya penerapan PBL berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap penguatan norma kesopanan siswa. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah penerapan PBL dapat dijadikan alternatif model pembelajaran yang efektif dalam meningkatkan sikap kesopanan siswa, yang tercermin dari perilaku menghargai guru, menghormati teman sebaya, menggunakan bahasa santun, serta menaati tata tertib sekolah. Kata Kunci: Problem Based Learning, Norma Kesopanan, Siswa SMA ============================================================================================= This study was motivated by the decline of students’ politeness norms in classroom activities, such as leaving the class without permission, using mobile phones during lessons, making noise, and showing less respect to teachers and peers. These conditions required an innovative, student-centered learning model. The purpose of this research was to describe the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model and to analyze its influence on strengthening politeness norms of Grade X students at SMA Kemala Bhayangkari 2 Rantauprapat. This research employed a quantitative descriptive approach with purposive sampling. The sample consisted of all 36 students of Grade X IPS 2. The instrument used was a politeness norm questionnaire, which had been tested for validity and reliability. The validity test showed that all items had r-count values greater than r-table (0.329), ranging from 0.751–0.910 and 0.863–0.909. The reliability test revealed Cronbach’s Alpha values of 0.952 and 0.968 (>0.60), indicating that the instrument was valid and reliable. Data analysis was conducted using the t-test with SPSS Statistics version 26. The results showed that the t-count value of 4.696 was greater than the t-table value of 2.032, with a significance level of <0.001. Thus, H₀ was rejected and H₁ was accepted, meaning that the implementation of PBL had a positive and significant effect on strengthening students’ politeness norms. In conclusion, PBL can be considered an effective alternative learning model to improve students’ politeness, as reflected in behaviors such as respecting teachers, appreciating peers, using polite language, and obeying school rules.
