Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh metode problem solving terhadap hasil belajar siswa kelas VIII SMP N 1 Rantau Selatan dan bagaimana hasil belajar siswa yang menggunakan metode problem solving dan metode konvensional materi pelajaran sistem persamaan linier dua variable. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode problem solving yang dikembangkan oleh polya. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan Jenis penelitian quasi eksperimen. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas kelas Ⅷ SMP N 1 Rantau Selatan dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 57 siswa yang terdiri dari kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol dengan teknik pengambilan sampel purposive sampling. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan cara penyebaran soal uraian. Analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis regresi linier sederhana dan statistik deskriptif dengan bantuan aplikasi SPSS versi 23. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa; 1) Ada pengaruh positif metode Problem Solving terhadap hasil belajar siswa kelas VIII SMP N 1 Rantau Selatan materi sistem persamaan linier dua variable. Yaitu dari hasil uji hipotesis menggunakan analisis regresi linier sederhana menemukan thitung lebih besar dari ttabel dengan nilai α = 0.05 (thitung = 2,464 > ttabel = 2,060 ) dan koefisien determinasi sebesar 19%. 2) Hasil belajar siswa Kelas VIII SMP N 1 Rantau Selatan yang menggunakan metode problem solving lebih tinggi dari pada hasil belajar siswa dengan metode konvensional materi sistem persamaan linier dua variabel. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari hasil analisis statistik deskriptif perolehan nilai rata-rata siswa kelas eksperimen lebih besar dibandingkan dengan perolehan nilai rata-rata siswa kelas kontrol ( rata-rata kontrol = 33.910 < rata-rata eksperimen = 63.171). Maka dapat disimpulkan terdapat pengaruh positif metode problem solving terhadap hasil belajar siswa kelas VIII SMP N 1 Rantau selatan materi sistem persamaan linier dua variable. Kata kunci : Problem Solving, dan Hasil Belajar.========================================================================================= This research aims to determine the effect of the problem solving method on the learning outcomes of grade VIII SMP N 1 Rantau Selatan and what are the learning outcomes of students who use problem solving methods and conventional methods in the subject matter of systems of linear equations in two variabels. The teory used in this research is the problem solving method develoved by polya. The method used in this research is quantitative with a quasi-experimental type of research . The population of this study were grade VIII SMP N 1 Rantau Selatan with a total sample of 57 students consisting of the experimental class and the control class using a porpusive sampling technique. Data collection was carried out by distributing descriptive question. The data analysis used in this research is simple linear regression analysis and descriptive statistics with the help of the SPSS version 23 application. The research result show that; 1) There is a positive influence of the problem solving method on learning outcomes of grade VIII SMP N 1 Rantau Selatan on two variable linear equation systems. Namely the result of the hypothesis test using simple linier regression analysis tcalculated greater than ttable with α = 0,05 (tcalculated =2,464 > = 2,060) and a coefficient of determination of 19%. 2) The learning outcomes of grade VIII SMP N 1 rantau selatan who use problem solving methods are higher than the learning outcomes of students using conventional methods. This can be seen from result analysis statistics deskriptive the average score obtained by experimental class students which is greater than the average score obtained by control class students ( control average = 33,910 < experimental average = 63, 171). So it can be concluded that there is a positive influence of the problem solving method on learning outcomes of grade VIII students at SMP N 1 Rantau selatan on two-variable linier equation systems.
