Abstract

Kemajuan teknologi digital telah mendorong transformasi dalam dunia pendidikan, termasuk dalam penyampaian materi pembelajaran yang lebih interaktif dan menarik. Salah satu media yang dapat dimanfaatkan adalah Canva, sebuah aplikasi desain grafis yang menyediakan berbagai fitur visual untuk mendukung proses belajar mengajar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas penggunaan aplikasi Canva sebagai media pembelajaran pada materi Klasifikasi Makhluk Hidup di kelas VII MTs Swasta Khoirul Ulum Sei Sanggul. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain one group pretest posttest. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VII Al Furqon dengan instrumen berupa soal pilihan ganda yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya, serta lembar observasi afektif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan rata-rata nilai siswa dari 70,88 pada pretest menjadi 86,85 pada posttest. Uji statistik menggunakan paired sample t-test menunjukkan nilai signifikansi 0,000 (< 0,05), yang berarti terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara sebelum dan sesudah pembelajaran menggunakan Canva. Selain peningkatan kognitif, hasil observasi juga menunjukkan peningkatan pada aspek afektif siswa, seperti keaktifan, antusiasme, dan kerja sama selama proses pembelajaran. Temuan ini membuktikan bahwa penggunaan aplikasi Canva efektif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar dan keterlibatan siswa, serta dapat menjadi alternatif media pembelajaran yang inovatif dan relevan di era digital. Kata Kunci: Canva, Media Pembelajaran, Klasifikasi Makhluk Hidup, Hasil Belajar, Pembelajaran IPA ================================================================================================== The advancement of digital technology has driven significant transformations in the field of education, particularly in delivering learning materials that are more interactive and engaging. One of the media that can be utilized is Canva, a graphic design application that provides various visual features to support the teaching and learning process. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of using Canva as a learning medium in the topic of Classification of Living Organisms for seventh grade students at MTs Swasta Khoirul Ulum Sei Sanggul. The research employed a quantitative approach with a one group pretest posttest design. The subjects were students of class VII Al Furqon, with instruments consisting of multiple choice tests that had been validated and tested for reliability, as well as affective observation sheets. The results showed an increase in the students’ average scores from 70.88 in the pretest to 86.85 in the posttest. Statistical analysis using a paired sample t test indicated a significance value of 0.000 (< 0.05), demonstrating a significant difference before and after the implementation of Canva. In addition to cognitive improvement, observational findings revealed enhancements in students’ affective aspects, including activeness, enthusiasm, and collaboration during the learning process. These findings confirm that the use of Canva is effective in improving learning outcomes and student engagement, and it can serve as an innovative and relevant alternative learning medium in the digital era.
