Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kondisi budaya sekolah berbasis karakter siswa, menganalisis proses pengembangan budaya sekolah, serta mengidentifikasi faktor pendukung dan penghambat dalam pengembangan budaya sekolah berbasis karakter siswa di Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) Negeri 3 RANTAU UTARA. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian studi kasus. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 13 informan yang meliputi kepala sekolah, wakil kepala sekolah, guru, dan siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data menggunakan teknik reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan, serta uji keabsahan data melalui triangulasi sumber. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) kondisi budaya sekolah berbasis karakter siswa telah terbentuk melalui nilai religiusitas, kejujuran, kedisiplinan, dan tanggung jawab, namun implementasinya belum optimal karena masih terdapat ketidakkonsistenan dalam pelaksanaan; (2) proses pengembangan budaya sekolah telah dilakukan melalui perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi, tetapi belum berjalan secara sistematis dan terstruktur, terutama pada aspek evaluasi; (3) faktor pendukung meliputi kepemimpinan kepala sekolah, komitmen guru, program pembiasaan, hubungan sosial yang harmonis, serta sarana prasarana, sedangkan faktor penghambat meliputi kurangnya konsistensi, rendahnya kesadaran siswa, keterbatasan waktu, kurangnya pemahaman guru, minimnya keterlibatan orang tua, serta belum optimalnya sistem evaluasi. Dengan demikian, pengembangan budaya sekolah berbasis karakter siswa perlu dilakukan secara lebih sistematis, konsisten, dan berkelanjutan agar dapat membentuk karakter siswa secara optimal. Kata Kunci: Budaya sekolah, Karakter siswa ================================================================================================= This study aims to describe the condition of school culture based on student character, analyze the process of developing school culture, and identify the supporting and inhibiting factors in the development of character-based school culture at Vocational High School (SMK) Negeri 3 RANTAU UTARA. This study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. The research subjects consisted of 13 informants, including the principal, vice principals, teachers, and students. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured through source triangulation. The results showed that: (1) the condition of character-based school culture has been formed through values such as religiosity, honesty, discipline, and responsibility, but its implementation has not been optimal due to inconsistencies in its application; (2) the process of developing school culture has been carried out through planning, implementation, and evaluation, but it has not been systematic and structured, especially in the evaluation stage; (3) the supporting factors include the principal's leadership, teacher commitment, habituation programs, harmonious social relationships, and adequate facilities, while the inhibiting factors include lack of consistency, low student awareness, limited time, insufficient teacher understanding, minimal parental involvement, and the absence of a structured evaluation system. Therefore, the development of character-based school culture needs to be carried out in a more systematic, consistent, and sustainable manner to effectively shape students’ character.
