Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh etika komunikasi terhadap pergaulan siswa kelas XI di SMA Negeri 1 Pangkatan Kabupaten Labuhanbatu. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis asosiatif kausal. Populasi sekaligus sampel penelitian terdiri atas 116 siswa kelas XI yang ditentukan melalui teknik total sampling. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan angket berskala Likert yang telah melalui pengujian validitas dan reliabilitas. Selanjutnya, data dianalisis dengan uji normalitas, uji linearitas, regresi linear sederhana, uji t, dan koefisien determinasi (R²) menggunakan SPSS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa instrumen yang digunakan valid dan reliabel serta data memenuhi asumsi normalitas dan linearitas. Analisis regresi menghasilkan persamaan Y' = 19,973 + 0,362X, yang menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif antara etika komunikasi dan pergaulan siswa. Uji t memperoleh nilai t hitung sebesar 8,046 > t tabel 1,980 dengan signifikansi < 0,001. Dengan demikian, Ha diterima dan Ho ditolak. Nilai R² sebesar 0,362 menunjukkan bahwa etika komunikasi memberikan kontribusi sebesar 36,2% terhadap pergaulan siswa, sedangkan 63,8% dipengaruhi faktor lain. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa etika komunikasi berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap pergaulan siswa. Semakin baik etika komunikasi siswa, semakin baik pula pergaulannya. Kata Kunci: Etika Komunikasi, Pergaulan Siswa, Siswa Kelas XI =================================================================================================== This study aims to determine the influence of communication ethics on the social interaction of Grade XI students at SMA Negeri 1 Pangkatan, Labuhanbatu Regency. This research employed a quantitative approach with a causal associative design. The population and sample consisted of 116 Grade XI students selected using total sampling. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. The data were then analyzed using normality testing, linearity testing, simple linear regression analysis, t-test, and coefficient of determination (R²) with the assistance of SPSS. The results showed that the research instrument was valid and reliable, and the data met the assumptions of normality and linearity. Simple linear regression analysis produced the equation Y' = 19.973 + 0.362X, indicating a positive relationship between communication ethics and students' social interaction. The t test resulted in a t-value of 8.046, which was greater than the t-table value of 1.980, with a significance value of < 0.001. Therefore, Ha was accepted and Ho was rejected. The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.362 indicated that communication ethics contributed 36.2% to students' social interaction, while the remaining 63.8% was influenced by other factors. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that communication ethics has a positive and significant influence on students' social interaction.
