Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi pada rendahnya minat belajar siswa yang ditunjukkan melalui kurangnya perhatian, ketertarikan, perasaan senang, dan keterlibatan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran yang masih berpusat pada guru. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan model pembelajaran yang inovatif dan berpusat pada siswa untuk meningkatkan minat belajar, salah satunya melalui model Project Based Learning (PjBL). Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan mixed methods dengan model sequential explanatory. Sampel penelitian adalah 25 siswa kelas X SMA Swasta Muhammadiyah 10 Rantauprapat. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan angket minat belajar yang diberikan sebelum (angket pre-test) dan sesudah (angket post-test) penerapan model Project Based Learning. Teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan menghitung persentase, serta kategori minat belajar siswa berdasarkan skala Likert, kemudian Mengelompokkan kategori minat belajar siswa berdasarkan kriteria. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model Project Based Learning (PjBL) efektif dalam meningkatkan minat belajar siswa. Peningkatan minat belajar siswa dapat dilihat dari hasil angket pretest, hal ini terlihat dari dominasi jawaban siswa pada kategori Tidak Setuju dan Sangat Tidak Setuju. Namun setelah diterapkan model Project Based Learning (PjBL), terjadi peningkatan pada seluruh indikator, dimana jawaban siswa didominasi oleh kategori Sangat Setuju dan Setuju.Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model Project Based Learning (PjBL) efektif dalam meningkatkan minat belajar PPKn siswa kelas X SMA Swasta Muhammadiyah 10 Rantauprapat pada materi Demokrasi. Model PjBL mampu menciptakan pembelajaran yang lebih aktif, menyenangkan, dan berpusat pada siswa sehingga meningkatkan perhatian, ketertarikan, serta keterlibatan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran. Kata kunci: Project Based Learning, Minat Belajar, PPKn ===================================== This study is motivated by the low level of students’ learning interest, which is indicated by a lack of attention, interest, enjoyment, and student involvement in the learning process that is still teacher-centered. Therefore, an innovative and student-centered learning model is needed to improve students’ learning interest, one of which is the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model.This study uses a mixed methods approach with a sequential explanatory design. The research sample consisted of 25 students of class X at SMA Swasta Muhammadiyah 10 Rantauprapat. Data collection techniques were carried out using a learning interest questionnaire administered before (pre-test) and after (post-test) the implementation of the Project Based Learning model. Data analysis techniques were conducted by calculating percentages and categorizing students’ learning interest based on a Likert scale, followed by grouping the categories according to predetermined criteria.The results of the study show that the implementation of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model is effective in increasing students’ learning interest. An increase in students’ learning interest can be seen from the pre-test results, where students’ responses were dominated by the categories of Disagree and Strongly Disagree. However, after the implementation of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model, there was an improvement in all indicators, with students’ responses dominated by the categories of Strongly Agree and Agree.Based on the findings, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model is effective in improving students’ learning interest in PPKn for class X students of SMA Swasta Muhammadiyah 10 Rantauprapat on the topic of Democracy. The PjBL model is able to create a more active, enjoyable, and student-centered learning environment, thereby increasing students’ attention, interest, and involvement in the learning process.
